Freelance - Senior Digital Product Designer

Senior Digital Product Designer | Manufacturing & SCADA | Freelance Assignment We are looking for a Senior Digital Product Designer for an exciting assignment within a large, complex industrial and manufacturing environment. The ideal consultant combines strategic product thinking with hands-on UX/UI design and is comfortable working across discovery, research, concept development and design execution. The assignment focuses on transforming complex manufacturing processes and operational data into clear, scalable and user-friendly visual experiences that can be leveraged across multiple digital products and teams. Key responsibilities:

• Review and assess existing digital interfaces and screens
• Conduct discovery research, structured interviews and process observations
• Understand the needs of engineers, operational users and line managers
• Translate complex factory processes and data into intuitive visual concepts
• Develop reusable and scalable visualisation principles and design systems
• Map and document processes and user journeys
• Design and facilitate cross-functional workshops
• Test concepts and designs with relevant user groups
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product and operational stakeholders

We are looking for someone with:

• Senior-level experience in Digital Product Design / UX/UI
• Experience working with enterprise users and complex operational processes
• Strong discovery and user research capabilities
• Experience within manufacturing, industrial environments or factory operations
• Experience with SCADA systems, preferably Ignition or similar, is a strong advantage
• Strong process mapping and workshop facilitation skills
• Ability to simplify complex technical information and data
• Experience creating scalable design systems or visualisation frameworks
• A self-driven mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguous, non-linear challenges
