Founding CTO

The Opportunity We’re working with an early-stage technology company building an AI-powered revenue management and enterprise automation platform for large international organisations. The business already has paying enterprise customers, further major enterprise discussions underway and a seven-person distributed engineering/product team. They are now looking for a Founding CTO to join the founding team, take ownership of the technology strategy and build the engineering organisation as the company scales. This isn't a blank-sheet build. A substantial platform already exists, and the Founding CTO will inherit a strong technical foundation while having the freedom to shape its future architecture and technology. The Role You’ll take ownership of:

• Technology strategy, architecture and technical roadmap
• Enterprise automation and agentic AI systems
• Scalability, security and engineering quality
• Building and leading a Swedish/European engineering team
• Technical and security discussions with enterprise customers
• Technology and architecture decisions as the platform scales

The role will initially be hands-on, moving towards predominantly technical and organisational leadership as the team grows. About You We’re looking for someone with:

• Strong software engineering and systems architecture experience
• Experience with enterprise automation, agentic AI or workflow systems
• A background building scalable enterprise applications
• Strong security understanding
• The credibility to work directly with large enterprise customers
• Hands-on development capability
• A technology-agnostic approach to architecture
• The ambition to build and lead an engineering organisation

The Setup The team currently works together in Sweden around 3–4 days per week, alongside distributed engineers internationally. Initially, the Founding CTO will contribute approximately 20–30 hours per week, with flexibility around when those hours are worked. Following the planned fundraising round, the position will transition to full-time. The initial arrangement is primarily equity-based, transitioning to a market-rate salary + meaningful founder-level equity following fundraising.
