What you'll do

UtilityCloud is looking for a Support Specialist to serve our Finnish customers, based in Oslo or Halden. You'll solve real customer problems, build strong technical and product knowledge, and grow into either a development track or a customer success / account management track for the Finnish market.

  • Location: Oslo or Halden
  • Company: UtilityCloud
  • Extent: Part-time, minimum two days per week with flexibility
  • Start date: As soon as possible

About UtilityCloud UtilityCloud is a market leading billing & customer information system that helps energy retailers cut costs while staying competitive in a deregulated market. With our fully-automated platform, our customers can cut operational costs by up to 70% and grow 15 times faster than the industry average. As the energy sector undergoes rapid transformation, UtilityCloud is positioned at the center of this shift – enabling utilities to modernize faster, operate smarter, and deliver better outcomes to their customers. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-growth company early in your career and learn how leading utilities realize value from next-generation software. The Role We are looking for a Support Specialist, fluent in Finnish, to join our support and development team and act as a key point of contact for our Finnish customers. Whether you're a student or not, this role gives you the chance to build strong technical and product understanding by working close to real customer problems. You will be the first line of contact for incoming requests from our Finnish customers: receiving, triaging, investigating, and resolving them, and making sure they get fast, clear, and reliable answers in their own language. Depending on your interests and strengths, you'll grow into either deeper technical/development work or a broader customer success and account management role for the Finnish market. This is a deliberate entry point into a full role at UtilityCloud – whether that's as a developer or on the customer success side. Several of our best team members started exactly here. Support is the fastest way to learn our product end-to-end and to genuinely understand our users. Key Responsibilities Customer Support (core to the role)

  • Act as first line of contact for incoming requests, with a particular focus on Finnish customers – clarify, triage, and prioritize based on customer impact and urgency
  • Investigate and resolve support tickets, using logs, database queries, and APIs
  • Escalate to 2nd line development team when needed, while retaining ownership of the case until it is resolved and closed with the customer
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with customers on status, ownership, and expected resolution
  • Create and maintain support documentation and knowledge base articles that enable customers to self-serve
  • Identify recurring issues and patterns, and feed them back to Product and Engineering

Depending on your path, an increasing share of your time will go toward either: Customer Success & Account Management

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with Finnish customers
  • Support onboarding, adoption, and ongoing account health for the Finnish market
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and retention
  • Act as a voice for Finnish customers internally

or Development & Product Improvement

  • Fix bugs and implement small improvements based on support insights
  • Contribute to product improvements and automation that reduce support volume
  • Collaborate with senior developers on prioritized development tasks

Career Path The role is structured to grow with you, in one of two directions:

  • Start with hands-on support, learning the product, the Nordic energy domain, and our Finnish customers
  • From there, progress either:
  • Into deeper technical troubleshooting and independent bug fixing, with a path toward a Junior Developer role, or
  • Into a broader customer-facing role, with a path toward Customer Success / Account Management for the Finnish market
  • You will be mentored closely by senior colleagues and work directly with the people who build and grow the product. For strong performers, there is a clear path to a full-time position.

What We Are Looking For

  • Fluent in Finnish – a requirement, as customer dialogue is in Finnish
  • Fluent in at least Norwegian or English, ideally both
  • Strong problem-solving ability and curiosity – you want to know why something breaks, not just how to make it go away
  • Interest in understanding how software and/or customer relationships work end-to-end
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal, and comfort in direct customer dialogue
  • Ability to take ownership and follow through on tasks with limited supervision
  • Familiarity with APIs, databases, and debugging is an advantage, but not required
  • An ongoing BSc in Computer Science or a similar technical field, and fundamental programming skills (e.g. JavaScript, Python, or similar) are a plus but not mandatory
  • Prior experience from support, customer success, account management, or similar customer-facing roles is a plus
  • Able to work a minimum of two days per week, physically present at our Oslo or Halden office (students working alongside studies are welcome, with flexibility around exam periods)

What We Offer

  • Real responsibility and direct customer contact from day one
  • Close mentoring from senior developers and short distance to leadership
  • A modern, AI-enabled development environment
  • Deep insight into a complex and business-critical domain – energy retail, billing, and market integrations
  • A clear path from support into either a developer career or a customer success / account management career
