What you'll do

Field Service Engineer – Data Center Hardware

Permanent, full-time 100% · Target Start Date: January 2027 (Project start dependent)

Teconergy is a globally oriented IT service provider specialising in data center operations and maintenance. We deliver on-site hardware support for enterprise and AI server environments across Europe, working to strict service level agreements (SLAs) for international technology clients.

As a Field Service Engineer, you go on site when a server fails. You handle service tickets from start to finish and restore equipment within the agreed SLA, from 4-hour response to next business day (NBD). The role runs on a 24/7 rotation or on-call schedule, depending on the location.

What youll do

  • Receive service tickets and review the details: serial number, location, fault description and required spare parts
  • Contact the customer quickly (within 15 minutes for 4H tickets, 60 minutes for NBD) and book the visit
  • Collect and check spare parts from the warehouse, then travel to data centers and customer sites in your region
  • Verify the server on site, troubleshoot using BMC logs and diagnostic tools, and replace failed parts (memory, CPUs, disks, power supplies, boards, GPUs)
  • Test the repair, get customer confirmation and complete the service report
  • Document each visit accurately within 24 hours and close tickets on time; flag any SLA risk before the deadline
  • Return defective parts and follow up replacement-part (RMA) cases
  • Escalate complex faults to technical support, and follow all data center safety and ESD rules
  • Some travel between customer locations within Norway may be required

What you bring

  • Education in IT, electronics or similar, or equivalent training and certification
  • Junior: relevant training with some hands-on hardware experience. Medium: 1–3 years in field service, data center or IT hardware support
  • Good knowledge of rack server hardware (CPU, memory, disks, RAID, power supplies)
  • Familiarity with remote management tools (BMC/IPMI, e.g. iDRAC, iLO) and hardware logs
  • Basic Linux commands and networking basics (cabling, fibre, IP addressing)
  • Accurate, structured way of working with ticket systems and reports
  • Driving licence (class B) and access to a car
  • Willingness to work a 24/7 rotation or on-call, including nights and weekends
  • Able to pass a background check for data center access

Nice to have: experience with GPU or blade servers, storage systems, or certifications such as CompTIA A+ / Server+.

Languages: English required; Finnish and Mandarin Chinese seen as a strong advantage.

We offer

  • Full training and manufacturer certification on enterprise server and storage products
  • Hands-on work with modern data center and AI infrastructure
  • Competitive salary plus shift, on-call and travel allowances
  • An international, multilingual team (English and Mandarin) and a clear path to senior roles

Apply: send your CV and a short cover letter in English via email or Linkedin. We review applications continuously.

Note: Final recruitment will require willingness to successfully complete a vendor/supplier interview, qualification training, and technical assessment.
