Experienced Software Developer

Build software at scale. Influence how we build it. Help us shape the next generation of development at Dalux. You will work on products used by professionals around the world, contribute to architectural and technical decisions, and have the opportunity to influence not only what we build, but also how we build it. Increasingly, this means thinking about how we use AI to make software development more effective. Your role As an Experienced Software Developer, you will take ownership of complex product and technical problems from idea to production. You will work as part of a product team together with other developers, a Product Manager, and a Product Designer. We expect experienced developers to contribute beyond their individual tasks: helping make good technical decisions, improving the codebase and architecture, sharing knowledge, and raising the engineering standard around them. Depending on your experience and interests, your work can include:

• Owning complex features and technical problems end-to-end
• Designing and implementing scalable, maintainable solutions
• Contributing to architectural decisions and technical direction
• Identifying and addressing technical debt where it creates meaningful value
• Improving engineering practices, tools, and developer workflows
• Driving or contributing to initiatives around infrastructure as code, DevOps, CI/CD, architecture, or developer tooling
• Sparring with and mentoring other developers
• Working closely with Product Management and Design to understand problems and find the right solutions
• Bringing new ideas and technologies into Dalux when they can improve our products or development practices

We expect experienced developers to have opinions, challenge existing solutions, and be comfortable having their own ideas challenged in return. AI-assisted software development We are significantly increasing our focus on AI-assisted development across Dalux. We are actively exploring how AI can improve the software development lifecycle – from understanding requirements and exploring technical approaches to coding, testing, review, debugging, refactoring, and automation. We do not see AI as a replacement for strong engineering fundamentals. We see it as a tool that can make capable developers more effective when combined with technical judgment and a clear understanding of the problem being solved. As an experienced developer, we want you to take an active role in this development: experimenting with new workflows, critically evaluating their value, sharing what works, and helping us establish good engineering practices around AI-assisted development. Practical experience using AI as part of your development workflow is an advantage. More importantly, you should be curious about how these tools are changing software engineering and willing to continue developing your own way of working. You may also encounter parts of our C++ codebase, including opportunities to modernize and improve existing solutions. Experience with our exact technology stack is useful, but strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to understand and improve complex systems matter more. Product development at Dalux Our product teams bring developers, Product Managers, and Product Designers together. Developers are expected to understand the problem being solved and contribute to finding the solution – not simply implement specifications handed to them. As an experienced developer, you will have an important voice in balancing user value, usability, technical feasibility, business viability, and long-term technical health. Our products are relied upon by professionals worldwide, making performance, stability, maintainability, and quality important parts of everyday engineering. Your background We expect that you:

• Have solid professional software development experience
• Hold a university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related technical field
• Have strong software engineering fundamentals
• Are comfortable owning complex technical problems and decisions
• Care about maintainability, reliability, performance, and quality
• Can navigate and improve an established codebase and architecture
• Enjoy technical sparring and sharing knowledge with other developers
• Are proactive and willing to challenge existing approaches when you see a better solution
• Understand the trade-offs between short-term delivery and long-term technical quality
• Are interested in how AI and new development tools can improve your effectiveness as an engineer
