Experienced Data Platform Engineer - Data Foundation - Aarhus or Gdansk

In Data Foundation, we are responsible for delivering and evolving the core Azure Databricks data platform and infrastructure that enables analytics, reporting and AI solutions across Arla. As an Experienced Data Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of the team, mentoring colleagues and ensuring we continue to deliver a modern, enterprise-grade platform that supports the needs of the business, says Senior Manager, Head of IT Product, Thomas Morthorst Overgaard. How You Will Make An Impact As an Experienced Data Platform Engineer, you will join an international team responsible for developing and maintaining Arla’s Data Foundation Platform. You will contribute to the continuous evolution of our cloud-based data platform, ensuring scalability, reliability and performance across our data ecosystem. Your key responsibilities include

• Contribute to the technical implementation of complex features and services while improving architecture and reducing technical debt.
• Support other developers through code reviews, technical coaching and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Collaborate closely with Product Architects and product teams to shape technical direction and non-functional requirements.
• Design and implement robust services, APIs and data pipelines, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Drive best practices within code quality, testing, automation and observability.
• Evolve CI/CD pipelines and strengthen platform reliability, performance and resilience.

• Several years of experience developing and maintaining enterprise-scale data platforms.
• Strong expertise within Azure Databricks, Azure services, Terraform, Python/PySpark and SQL.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, GitHub and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Understanding of architectural patterns, integration design and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with CI/CD, test automation and DevOps methodologies.
• Knowledge of observability, performance optimization, resilience patterns and incident management.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, combined with the ability to mentor and guide colleagues.
• Professional proficiency in English.
