What you'll do

Denmark | Copenhagen | Full-time | Approx. 60% customer travel Our client is an established international HVAC and thermal-management manufacturer strengthening its direct presence in the Danish Data Centre market. They are looking for a technically credible Equipment Sales Engineer to develop Data Centre cooling opportunities across Denmark, with a particular focus on building relationships within the local colocation market. This could be particularly relevant if you already sell into Data Centres and bring genuine technical knowledge of chillers, data-hall cooling or liquid cooling, but want the opportunity to work across a much broader cooling portfolio. The opportunity You will take responsibility for developing Data Centre equipment sales across Denmark. This is a customer-facing technical sales role. You will identify and qualify opportunities, understand customers' technical requirements, develop proposals with colleagues across the business and manage opportunities through commercial negotiation to order. You will have an established international organisation behind you, while retaining a good level of autonomy over how you develop your market. The opportunity is also arriving at an interesting point in the company's development. Recent acquisitions have expanded its Data Centre thermal-management capabilities beyond established chiller and air-side cooling technologies into modular and advanced liquid cooling. This gives you a broader proposition to take to customers as cooling requirements continue to evolve. What will you do?

  • Develop new relationships and Data Centre cooling opportunities across Denmark.
  • Build and grow relationships with existing and prospective colocation customers.
  • Understand customer cooling requirements and position technically appropriate solutions.
  • Sell across a portfolio that can include chillers, air-side/data-hall cooling and liquid cooling technologies.
  • Manage opportunities from initial qualification and proposal through commercial negotiation and order.
  • Work with engineering, service and other internal specialists to develop the right overall customer solution.
  • Identify additional service and lifecycle opportunities.
  • Maintain an accurate commercial pipeline and provide relevant customer, market and competitor intelligence.

What will make you relevant? The strongest candidates will already understand the Data Centre environment and combine technical credibility with genuine sales capability. You should bring proven technical or equipment sales experience within HVAC, cooling or a closely related technical market, together with strong technical knowledge in at least one relevant area such as chillers, data-hall/air cooling or liquid cooling. You do not need to be an expert across every cooling technology. Genuine depth in one relevant area, an understanding of the wider Data Centre cooling environment and the ability to broaden your knowledge could make you very relevant. You will also need:

  • A relevant technical university degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Aeronautical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional English.
  • The independence and organisation required for a customer-facing territory role.

Danish language capability would be highly advantageous. Why consider it? The attraction is the combination of technology breadth, market ownership and timing. The business has expanded its Data Centre cooling capabilities while strengthening its direct presence in Denmark. You will therefore have the opportunity to represent a broader thermal-management proposition while helping develop the organisation's position in the local Data Centre market. Rather than simply maintaining an established territory, there is genuine scope to develop relationships and build market presence. As the Danish operation develops, there is also potential for successful early hires to take on greater responsibility within the organisation. Package & Benefits The position offers a competitive base salary dependent on experience, alongside a performance-related incentive scheme. Target compensation is structured on an approximately 70% fixed / 30% variable basis, with a performance kicker providing additional earning potential for strong results. The wider package includes:

  • Company car
  • Pension
  • Strong employee benefits package

Location & Travel You should be based in Denmark and comfortable with approximately 60% customer travel across the territory. When not visiting customers, you will collaborate regularly with colleagues from the Copenhagen office. If your background combines Data Centre cooling knowledge with technical sales experience, apply directly or contact Keith Payne at KNUANCE Search for a confidential discussion about the role, package and organisation.
