Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for an Embedded Software Consultant – SW Platform to join our team in Eskilstuna, Sweden. We are looking for experienced Embedded Software Consultants to support the development of our next-generation software platform for machine ECUs. The assignment is focused on low-level embedded software and platform development, working close to the MCU and hardware. You will be part of a technically strong development team working with software that needs to be deterministic, robust and reliable in a real-time environment. Key responsibilities

• Develop and integrate low-level embedded software for ECU platforms.
• Work with MCUs, boot software, drivers, hardware abstraction and RTOS.
• Analyze and troubleshoot software and hardware-related issues.
• Perform hands-on verification and debugging on target hardware, using tools such as debug probes, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Contribute to architecture, implementation, integration and verification of the software platform.

Required skills and experience

• Several years of experience in low-level embedded software development.
• Strong understanding of microcontrollers and embedded hardware.
• Experience with RTOS and/or bare-metal software.
• Experience with bootloaders/boot software, startup code, memory and hardware initialization.
• Good understanding of real-time behavior, interrupts, memory and peripheral interfaces.
• Strong debugging skills and experience working hands-on with embedded hardware and measurement equipment.
• Strong programming skills in C++, with Python experience for scripting, automation and testing.
• Comfortable working in an environment with complex hardware/software interactions.

Meritorious

• Experience from automotive or other safety-critical embedded systems.
• Experience with ARM-based MCUs.
• Experience with CAN/CAN FD and diagnostics.
• Experience with functional safety.
• Experience with modern software development and CI/CD environments.
