What you'll do

Join Sii Sweden as an Electronics Design Engineer and contribute to the development of a cutting-edge medical device platform used in critical care. You will work within a cross-functional R&D team responsible for a modular system enabling the development, design, and production of user interface screens for medical devices. In this project, you will focus on replacing electronic components on existing PCBs, qualifying new components, and ensuring that they meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. The work includes evaluation, testing, analysis, documentation, and design modification within defined timelines. This role is ideal for a proactive and structured engineer who thrives in a regulated environment, enjoys hands-on design and problem-solving, and wants to make a real impact on products that support patient care worldwide. Your tasks

  • Performing electronic design changes and component replacements on existing PCBs
  • Creating and updating schematics and selecting suitable components
  • Ensuring compliance with medical device requirements and safety standards
  • Conducting tests, measurements, and validation of new components
  • Supporting EMC activities and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations
  • Participating in hardware risk analysis and documentation work
  • Maintaining accurate technical documentation throughout the design lifecycle
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in electronic circuit and PCB design
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and hardware CAD tools (as Altium, Xpedition)
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware architectures, microcontrollers, memory interfaces, and peripheral components
  • Experience with testing, debugging, and validating electronic hardware
  • Knowledge of medical device standards, regulatory requirements, and safety-critical design principles is a huge plus
  • Ability to interpret datasheets, design specifications, and electrical constraints
  • Fluent in Swedish and English
