Electronic System Architect – Steer-by-Wire

We are looking for an experienced Electronic System Architect to define and develop the electronic architecture of an automotive steer-by-wire system for one of oue clients Gothenburg location. The role requires strong system architecture expertise supported by practical experience in both hardware and embedded software development. Key responsibilities

• Define the electronic system architecture and allocate requirements across hardware and software.
• Develop and maintain system specifications, interfaces and architecture documentation.
• Evaluate technical solutions against performance, reliability, safety and integration requirements.
• Define interfaces between electronic control units, sensors, actuators and software functions.
• Work closely with hardware, embedded software, functional safety and verification engineers.
• Lead technical reviews and support architectural decisions and trade-offs.
• Support system integration, troubleshooting, verification and validation.
• Coordinate technical requirements and interfaces with suppliers and other stakeholders.

Required experience

• Proven experience in system architecture for automotive electronic or embedded systems.
• Practical experience in both hardware and embedded software development.
• Strong understanding of ECU architecture, real-time systems and hardware/software interaction.
• Experience with requirements engineering, interface definition and system integration.
• Ability to translate system requirements into clear technical solutions.
• Strong analytical, documentation and cross-functional communication skills.
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Fluent English.

Meritorious

• Experience with steer-by-wire, electric power steering or other chassis control systems.
• Experience designing safety-critical systems according to ISO 26262.
• Knowledge of redundancy, diagnostics and fault-tolerant architectures.
• Familiarity with automotive communication networks and AUTOSAR.
• Experience with model-based development and HIL verification.
