Role snapshot
Electrical Engineer | Data Centre Rotation available with accommodation If you like solving electrical problems before they become construction problems, this could be a good one. Data centre projects leave very little room for assumptions. As an Electrical Engineer, you'll be involved across the engineering cycle, from design review and procurement through installation, testing and commissioning. You'll see how your decisions translate from drawings and technical submissions into a fully operational facility. It's a role for someone who enjoys the detail, but also wants to understand how everything fits together. What you'll be doing You'll work across the project to make sure electrical systems are technically sound, properly coordinated and ready for installation and commissioning. Your responsibilities will include:
You'll work closely with the Project Manager or Electrical Engineering Lead, alongside BIM, design, construction, supply chain and specialist vendor teams. What you'll bring You'll have a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, together with experience working on major electrical construction projects. You'll have a good understanding of electrical systems, installation, testing and commissioning, and be comfortable reviewing technical information and making practical engineering decisions. Data centre experience would be an advantage, but we're also interested in engineers who have gained relevant experience on other complex, large-scale projects. You'll need to be organised and comfortable managing several technical workstreams at once, while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Just as importantly, you'll be able to communicate effectively with everyone involved in the project, from design consultants and BIM teams through to contractors, specialist vendors and the client. The opportunity You'll be working on technically demanding data centre projects where the quality of the engineering, coordination and commissioning genuinely matters. Rather than being responsible for one narrow part of the process, you'll have visibility across the project lifecycle and the opportunity to influence how the electrical systems are delivered from design through to a functioning facility. If you want your electrical engineering experience to lead to something you can actually see, test and switch on, it's worth a conversation.
