What you'll do

Company Description Coquelle Consulting specializes in Clinical Outcome Assessment (COA) strategy, licensing, translations, and eCOA implementation for global clinical studies. The company supports pharma and biotech organizations in defining patient-centered endpoints, securing copyright-compliant instruments, and running streamlined COA operations from early development through post-marketing. In addition to COA expertise, Coquelle Consulting provides skilled clinical trial professionals who integrate directly into sponsor teams. Led by CEO Thomas Coquelle, who brings over 25 years of clinical research experience, the company combines strategic planning with hands-on operational support. Its professionals are dedicated to minimizing risk, maintaining timelines, and generating robust, patient-centered evidence for clients’ clinical trials. Role Description The Director of Business Development is a full-time, on-site role based in Copenhagen. This position is responsible for defining and executing the business development strategy to expand Coquelle Consulting’s client base within pharma, biotech, and clinical research organizations. Day-to-day activities include identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, managing the sales pipeline, and leading outreach efforts to prospective clients through meetings, presentations, and industry networking. The Director will oversee key accounts, collaborate with internal COA and clinical operations experts to shape tailored service proposals, and drive contract negotiations to successful close. The role also involves monitoring market trends, refining business plans, contributing to marketing initiatives, and reporting on growth performance to senior leadership. Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in New Business Development and Lead Generation, including building and managing a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Strong Business Planning and strategic commercial skills, with experience developing and executing growth plans in a B2B services environment.
  • Proficiency in Contract Negotiation, with a track record of structuring and closing complex service agreements.
  • Solid Account Management abilities, including nurturing long-term client relationships and driving repeat business.
  • Experience in clinical research, pharma, or biotech, ideally with exposure to COAs, eCOA, or clinical operations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Comfort working in a collaborative, cross-functional setting and engaging with technical and operational experts.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, life sciences, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills and familiarity with Nordic or European clinical research markets are an advantage.
