DevOps Engineer

Position Title - Senior SW Engineer / CICD Engineer at Volvo Trucks About the role: We are now recruiting a senior SW Engineer/CICD Engineer to help operate, modernize and scale our embedded software delivery platforms. You will work in teams focused on CI/CD, DevOps, software integration, delivery automation and dataset management, building the capabilities that enable reliable, repeatable and efficient software releases. The mission is to replace manual delivery and integration activities with an automated, continuously tested software factory. Your work may cover artifact and configuration management, simulation workflows, system integration, release management and dataset lifecycle automation. You will develop new internal tools and services based on modern CI/CD principles, with a strong focus on quality, traceability and developer experience. A key part of the role is understanding current workflows, identifying automation opportunities, and supporting users as new solutions and ways of working are introduced. Key responsibilities

• Operate and support enterprise Linux (RHEL or similar) and business-critical solutions
• Strong experience in Jenkins
• Experience in CICD tools such as Git, Artifactory etc.
• Operate and support workloads across on-premises, Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes environments.
• Monitor and troubleshoot systems using Prometheus, exporters, Grafana, and other observability tools.
• Support upgrades, patching, maintenance windows, and operational changes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, stakeholders, and service providers to resolve issues and improve platform reliability.
• Create and maintain runbooks, operational procedures, and architecture documentation.
• Continuously improve automation, standardization, security, and operational processes.
• Collaborate with developers, operations, and product teams to deliver end-to-end digital solutions.
• Act as a technical expert and advisor, guiding colleagues and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the organization.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise Linux and infrastructure administration, including services, logs, permissions, filesystems, performance, patching, and OS-level troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of networking, storage, certificates/TLS, authentication, and security.
• Practical experience with Argo CD, Ansible, Terraform, and Helm, including maintaining and improving automation.
• Experience operating workloads across Azure and on-premises environments.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containers.
• Experience with Prometheus, exporters, Grafana, and a good understanding of monitoring and observability.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong security and governance mindset with experience working in enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with working in an agile team.
• Scripting (Python, Bash)

Preferred skills

• CI/CD or platform engineering experience.
• Well versed in installing, configuring, operating, and monitoring CI/CD pipelines
• Competences in embedded software architecture, design and verification
• Experience with DevOps best practices
• Experience with high-availability or regulated environments.
