Role snapshot
Looking for a role where you can take ownership of design management in large-scale data center projects? We are now looking for a Design Manager to join Granlund!
_Granlund is a rapidly growing expert organization in the real estate and construction sector. Together with our clients and stakeholders, we are building a sustainable and intelligent future. Our more than 1,600 professionals serve across 30 locations throughout Finland._
Would you be our new Design Manager?
As a Design Manager, you will take overall responsibility for leading and coordinating design management in large-scale and demanding data center projects. In this role, you ensure that design activities progress according to agreed schedules, budgets, quality standards, and project requirements.
You will lead the design process from start to finish and serve as the key contact for all design-related matters. Working closely with clients, project management, design leads, and other stakeholders, you will drive collaboration, support decision-making, manage design changes, and keep the project moving forward.
You will coordinate a multidisciplinary design team of approximately 15–20 professionals across architecture, structural engineering, HVAC, electrical engineering, and automation. Your focus is on aligning the different disciplines, ensuring smooth communication, and creating the conditions for successful project delivery.
The position is a full-time and permanent role, and you will be employed directly by Granlund. The role offers a highly flexible working model, allowing you to work remotely from anywhere in Finland or from any Granlund office. Occasional travel to project sites within Finland is expected.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced design management professional with a strong track record of leading complex projects, multidisciplinary teams, or large-scale design work. Experience in data center, industrial, or other technically demanding project environments will support your success in this role.
To succeed in this role, you have a solid technical understanding of the design process and preferably an engineering degree. Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Dalux, or Solibri, as well as BIM workflows, CAD environments, and 3D modelling, is considered an advantage.
As our projects are highly international, fluent English skills are essential. Finnish language skills are seen as a strong asset.
As a person, you are organized, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of complex project entities. You know how to build effective relationships with clients, consultants, and project teams, while adapting your communication style to different stakeholders. You are confident in decision-making, able to navigate challenges constructively, and committed to driving projects toward successful outcomes.
Why join us?
At Granlund, you will work in a company that has been a pioneer in Finnish building services engineering for decades. You will contribute to demanding and large-scale projects such as data centers and commercial environments, where your work truly matters. As one of the leading data center design and consulting companies in the Nordics, we offer long-term career opportunities in a rapidly growing field, where projects are becoming increasingly significant in scale and impact. You will have strong opportunities to grow and develop your expertise, with career paths that can be shaped around your strengths and interests.
We place real emphasis on employee well-being, continuous learning, and a supportive, professional work environment. You will be part of a collaborative and ambitious team where people take ownership, share knowledge, and work together toward common goals.
