What you'll do

Grow Your Career with Soben, Part of Accenture – Norway At Soben, part of Accenture, we believe our greatest strength is our people. Your growth is central to our success, and we are committed to helping you build a career you are proud of. Whether through structured training, mentoring, or exposure to complex, high-profile projects across Norway and the wider Nordic region, every step you take is an opportunity to develop your skills, broaden your experience, and shape your future. We encourage you to be curious, take ownership of your development, and explore the many opportunities available within our business. Speak with your manager about your goals, seek out projects that excite you, and do not be afraid to stretch beyond your comfort zone — that is where real growth happens. Your career journey is unique, and we are here to support you every step of the way. Let’s keep learning, keep improving, and keep building something exceptional together. The Role – Design Manager (Data Centres) The Design Manager will lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver technically robust and coordinated designs for hyperscale, enterprise, and colocation data centre projects across Norway and the Nordic region. This role provides full design-cycle oversight, including scoping, technical assurance, regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, and interface management from concept through to construction support. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all design stages across architecture, MEP, environmental, digital systems, and technical advisory streams
  • Ensure integrated design solutions across energy systems, cooling strategies, water usage, sustainability, and operational resilience — key considerations in modern data centre development
  • Work closely with clients to shape project briefs, support early-stage project origination, and align commercial and technical feasibility
  • Ensure compliance with Norwegian and international standards and regulations, maintaining high design quality and project readiness
  • Support modular and prefabricated design approaches to accelerate programme delivery and optimise efficiency
  • Coordinate planning submissions, permitting processes, and engagement with local authorities, environmental bodies, and grid/power providers
  • Manage interfaces across stakeholders to ensure effective design integration and project delivery

About You

  • Extensive design management experience within mission-critical or technically complex infrastructure, ideally including data centres
  • Strong multidisciplinary coordination capability, integrating engineering, architectural, digital, and environmental inputs
  • Understanding of Nordic market dynamics, including power/grid constraints, sustainability expectations, and regulatory frameworks in Norway
  • Awareness of key industry drivers such as high-density computing/AI demand, energy efficiency, and net-zero targets
  • Proactive and solutions-focused approach to navigating technical, regulatory, and environmental challenges
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and client-facing communication skills
  • Degree in engineering, architecture, or a related discipline
  • Professional chartership (or working towards) is desirable
