Design Engineer - Electric Motors

We are looking for a Design Engineer with experience in electric motor systems to join an R&D environment within an international technology company developing advanced electromechanical products. You will become part of a multidisciplinary engineering team working with mechanics, mechatronics, electronics and verification. The team is involved throughout the complete product lifecycle, from early technology investigations and feasibility studies to product development, verification and continuous product improvements. In this role, you will contribute to the development of future product platforms, combining hands-on engineering with technical coordination across several disciplines. Depending on your previous experience, the assignment may also include technical leadership responsibilities. Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Development and specification of electromechanical systems and components
• Design and evaluation of electric motor and gearbox solutions
• Leading technical investigations, concept evaluations and pre-studies
• Coordinating technical activities across software, electronics, sourcing, quality and manufacturing
• Planning and carrying out verification and validation activities
• Driving continuous improvements in development methodologies, processes and engineering tools
• Supporting technology roadmaps and future motor platform strategies

Job requirements To succeed in this role, we believe you have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or a similar technical field, together with at least three years of relevant industrial experience. You have previous experience within mechanical or mechatronic product development and are comfortable working in an environment where several engineering disciplines need to come together around a complete product. Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, are required. Experience within one or several of the following areas is considered highly valuable:

• Design and development of electric motors
• Gearboxes and transmission systems
• Electromechanical system architecture
• Verification and validation of electromechanical products
• Technical leadership or project coordination
• Product development within consumer products, robotics, automotive or similar industries
