What you'll do

About Us We’re a fast-scaling AI PropTech startup building the next generation of footfall analytics for shopping centres and physical retail. Our technology combines computer vision, data science and AI to turn activity across physical spaces into actionable insights about customer behaviour, movement patterns and commercial performance - at scale and with privacy and GDPR compliance built into the architecture. Our ambition goes beyond traditional footfall counting. We are building a new category of footfall data science, using an AI-native data foundation to understand behaviour across entire retail environments. We are a small, agile team with growing traction in Denmark and across Europe, and we are now looking for a talented Data Scientist who wants to help shape both our technology and the company as we scale. The Role You will take ownership of the mathematical and statistical modelling that underpins Zonify’s analytics platform, working on real-world problems where the answers are often not obvious and the data is rarely perfect. Your responsibility will be to develop and continuously improve the analytical models that turn our computer vision data into a reliable foundation for ZonifyQL and the insights our customers use to understand behaviour across physical environments. Your work will include:

  • Developing and owning statistical, mathematical and machine-learning models for behavioural and footfall analytics
  • Working with real-world spatiotemporal data, including time series, graphs, images and video-derived signals
  • Developing methods to understand patterns, relationships, anomalies and flows across physical retail environments
  • Turning complex data into commercially meaningful insights and customer-facing products
  • Designing experiments and evaluating model accuracy, uncertainty and what can reliably be inferred from the available data
  • Taking projects from initial idea and experimentation into production
  • Helping shape our technical and product roadmap as we grow

You will work closely with our computer vision, engineering and product teams, while having clear ownership of the modelling layer and freedom to develop the approaches that best fit the problems we are solving. Who We’re Looking For You are likely a final-year Master’s student, recent graduate or early-career Data Scientist with a strong quantitative background in areas such as Mathematics/Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, or Computer Science. We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong quantitative and analytical foundation, particularly in mathematical modelling, probability and statistics
  • Is comfortable working with imperfect real-world data and reasoning about the assumptions, uncertainty and limitations of analytical models
  • Enjoys translating ambiguous real-world problems into models, experiments and measurable solutions
  • Takes ownership and is comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team
  • Communicates well and enjoys collaborating across technical and commercial questions
  • Wants to build something new rather than simply maintain something already established

We care more about ability, curiosity and trajectory than about ticking every box. Why Join Us You will work closely with the founders and technical team and have real influence over both product and technology. You will see ideas move from hypothesis to production quickly and get direct feedback from real customers. For the right candidate, we also offer:

  • Significant responsibility and room to grow with the company
  • A flexible, hybrid setup based in Lyngby
  • Competitive compensation reflecting your profile and our stage of growth
  • A healthy work-life balance built on trust
  • The opportunity to participate in our employee incentive programme and share in the long-term value we aim to create

How to Apply Send your application, CV, academic credentials - or anything else that gives us a good sense of who you are and what you can do - to careers@zonify.ai. We’re not looking for someone simply to fill a role. We’re looking for someone who wants to build with us - and who is ready to join soon. If that sounds like you, let’s talk.
