Data Engineer (Snowflake)

Snowflake Data Engineer / Snowflake Architect – Contract Location: Sweden (Hybrid / Remote) Contract: Freelance / Contract Duration: 6–12 months (extensions likely) Start Date: ASAP / Flexible We're looking for an experienced Snowflake Data Engineer or Snowflake Architect to join a major data transformation project with a client based in Sweden. You'll play a key role in designing, building and optimising a modern cloud data platform, working alongside experienced Data Engineers, Architects and business stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Snowflake specialist who enjoys solving complex data challenges and delivering scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise scalable data pipelines and architectures using Snowflake.
• Build robust ETL/ELT processes and integrate data from multiple sources.
• Lead Snowflake platform design, performance tuning and cost optimisation.
• Work with Python, SQL and modern data transformation tools such as dbt.
• Implement data modelling, governance and security best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders on wider cloud data transformation initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years' experience in Data Engineering or Data Architecture.
• Strong hands-on Snowflake expertise, including platform design and optimisation.
• Advanced SQL and Python skills.
• Experience with dbt, Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure or GCP environments.
• Experience designing modern data warehouses and scalable data platforms.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

Desirable: SnowPro certification, experience with Data Vault or dimensional modelling, and previous enterprise transformation projects.
