Senior Platform Engineer (Google Cloud Platform) – Data & Analytics About the role Our client is looking for a senior engineer with deep, hands-on Google Cloud Platform expertise to reinforce its Platform & Enablement function within Data & Analytics. You will shape and evolve the cloud platform that Data & Analytics teams rely on, balancing day-to-day engineering with platform architecture, automation, security, reliability and developer experience. Responsibilities - Design, build and continuously improve cloud platform capabilities for Data & Analytics teams - Work extensively with Google Cloud Platform, GKE/Kubernetes and containerized workloads - Develop and maintain infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code using Terraform - Contribute to CI/CD and GitOps-based delivery approaches - Handle GCP networking, IAM, security and access management - Create reusable platform components that give engineering teams self-service capabilities - Ensure strong monitoring, logging, observability and operational reliability - Support teams in onboarding their workloads onto the platform - Collaborate with platform engineers, data engineers, architects and security stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure solutions - Help define technical standards and reusable patterns, and guide the long-term direction of the platform, combining operational ownership with strategic development Required skills and experience - Senior-level (Level 4) professional background in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering or DevOps - Several years of hands-on production experience with Google Cloud Platform - Solid practical experience with GKE and Kubernetes - Strong hands-on expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code - Experience designing or building cloud platform foundations and landing-zone capabilities - Experience with IAM, workload identity, networking and cloud security - Strong background in CI/CD and automated delivery of both software and infrastructure - Experience with monitoring, logging and observability in cloud environments - Track record of supporting multiple engineering or development teams through shared platform capabilities - Ability to work independently and take technical ownership in a complex enterprise setting, while staying hands-on in implementation - Strong English communication skills Meriting experience - GCP data services such as BigQuery, Dataflow and Pub/Sub (highly meriting) - Data ingestion and/or streaming platforms (highly meriting) - Platform engineering in regulated or security-sensitive enterprise environments (highly meriting) - Developer self-service and platform enablement - GitOps and Helm - Google Cloud networking and security services - Apache Beam - Backstage or other Internal Developer Platforms - Python and Bash - Multi-cloud environments combining GCP with Azure and/or AWS
