What you'll do

Good decisions start with good data. But good data does not just happen. At NORDEN, data comes from many places and is used across our business to understand markets, automate processes and make better decisions. Your job is to make sure that data is actually ready to be used. As our new Data Engineer, you will build the pipelines and datasets that move data through our organisation and turn raw information into something people can trust and work with. You will not be sitting far away from the business maintaining pipelines no one really talks about. You will work closely with digital and commercial colleagues, understand what they need and build the data foundation that helps them solve real problems. And while shipping knowledge is something you will pick up along the way, curiosity about data and how to make it useful is something we hope you bring from day one. Why this role? Because there is a lot to build, improve and figure out. You will join nine colleagues in our Data Engineering team in Copenhagen, working with large and varied datasets using PySpark, SQL, Azure DevOps and Microsoft Fabric. And our team is growing beyond Copenhagen. We are setting up a Data Engineering team in Singapore, starting with two colleagues, giving you an even broader team to work and share ideas with. Some days will be about building something new. Others will be about improving what already exists, finding a smarter way to structure data or figuring out why something is not working quite as expected. What connects it all is the purpose behind it: making data easier to trust, access and use across NORDEN. You already know your way around data engineering. Now you are looking for a role where you can have more of a say in how things are built, not just build what has already been decided. You will manage your solutions, contribute to technical decisions and collaborate closely with the business to understand what our data needs to do. What you will be doing You will work across the journey from raw data to reliable datasets that colleagues and systems across NORDEN can actually use. You will:

  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines.
  • Bring internal and external data together and turn it into trusted datasets.
  • Transform raw data into useful features and insights.
  • Improve how we capture, validate and enrich data.
  • Build solutions that are reliable today without making life difficult for whoever needs to work with them tomorrow.
  • Work with digital and commercial colleagues to understand what they need from our data and translate that into technical solutions.

What you bring You know that good data solutions are not only about getting things to work, but about making them reliable, scalable and useful to others. Besides this you likely have:

  • Around 5 years of practical experience in data engineering or a similar role.
  • A degree within data, IT, engineering or another analytical field.
  • Eligibility to work in Denmark.
  • Solid experience with Lakehouse architecture, for example in Microsoft Fabric or Azure Databricks.
  • Experience designing and building data pipelines and working with how data is structured, transformed and made available to others.
  • Experience contributing to technical decisions around data architecture and how data should be structured and used.
  • The confidence to be responsible for your solutions, while still enjoying sparring with and learning from others.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
