Data Architect

We’re seeking an experienced Data Architect to support a cloud data transformation programme, shaping a platform that meets business needs and enables data engineers and data scientists to work effectively. You’ll translate business requirements into practical architecture, define a clear data strategy, and develop an actionable approach to onboarding onto Databricks. Contract Information

Key responsibilities

• Design data solutions that connect business requirements with technical delivery.
• Align data architecture with the organisation’s IT strategy and target architecture.
• Enhance cloud platform capabilities for engineering, data science and actuarial teams.
• Develop and drive the implementation of a Databricks onboarding strategy.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and product owners to guide design decisions and delivery.
• Design flexible data systems that can adapt to changing business needs.
• Strengthen data governance and lead workshops and knowledge sharing to support consistent implementation.

Skills and experience

• Proven experience working as a Data Architect.
• Strong experience with AWS, Databricks and cloud data platforms.
• A solid understanding of data modelling and data systems design.
• Experience supporting data or technology transformation programmes.
• Ability to define and implement a comprehensive data strategy.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain architecture clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
