What you'll do

Company Description Terakraft AI is an AI-focused sustainable datacenter specializing in liquid-cooled GPU hosting. The company originated from the transformation of a former hydropower plant into an advanced AI datacenter, highlighting its deep commitment to renewable energy. Guided by the “water-to-token” motto, Terakraft AI uses water to generate electricity and to cool servers, producing efficient, high-performance computing outputs. This approach enables a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of less than 1.1, 100% renewable energy consumption, and a closed-loop cooling system with 0 Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE). Team members join a mission-driven environment that combines cutting-edge AI infrastructure with sustainable engineering practices. Role Description The Critical Manager Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sauda. This role is responsible for overseeing the operation and reliability of the datacenter’s critical infrastructure, including power, cooling, and GPU hosting systems. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring facility performance, coordinating maintenance and inspections, managing incident response, and implementing improvements to optimize energy efficiency and system uptime. The Critical Manager Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support AI workloads, ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, and document operational procedures and technical reports. This role also involves planning capacity expansions, supervising vendors and contractors, and contributing to the continuous enhancement of Terakraft AI’s sustainable datacenter operations. Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong expertise in datacenter infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems (especially liquid cooling), and facility monitoring.
  • Candidates should possess skills in reliability and operations management, such as incident management, root-cause analysis, and preventive maintenance planning.
  • Candidates should possess competencies in engineering and technical analysis, including interpreting schematics, using diagnostic tools, and applying industry standards for electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Candidates should possess abilities in project coordination and vendor management, including supervising contractors, managing timelines, and ensuring quality of delivered work.
  • Candidates should possess strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, procedures, and updates for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or related field) or equivalent practical experience in datacenter or industrial facility operations.
  • Experience with sustainable energy systems, liquid cooling technologies, or high-density GPU environments is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work on-site, respond to operational issues promptly, adhere to safety protocols, and collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
