Critical Facility Manager - Green AI Datacenter

Role Description The Critical Facility Manager for the Green AI Datacenter is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all critical infrastructure systems, including power generation, distribution, cooling, and liquid-based thermal management. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sauda, overseeing daily monitoring, incident response, maintenance planning, and optimization of datacenter performance in line with sustainability and uptime goals. Day-to-day tasks include supervising facility operations staff and contractors, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, managing change control processes, and maintaining documentation and compliance for critical systems. The role also involves analyzing performance metrics (such as PUE and WUE), identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing best practices to ensure continuous availability of AI workloads. The Critical Facility Manager acts as the primary point of contact for operational escalations, ensuring clear communication with internal stakeholders and supporting smooth, predictable datacenter operations. Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in critical facility operations, including power generation, electrical distribution, mechanical systems, and datacenter cooling, preferably in high-density or liquid-cooled environments.
• Strong skills in infrastructure monitoring, incident management, and preventive maintenance planning, with the ability to maintain high uptime and reliability.
• Experience with sustainability-focused operations, energy efficiency optimization, and performance metrics such as PUE and WUE.
• Proficiency in using facility management tools, building management systems (BMS), and computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage vendors and contractors, and enforce safety and compliance standards.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills, with the capacity to document procedures and prepare clear operational reports.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in mission-critical infrastructure.
• Experience in datacenter, industrial plant, or power station operations is highly beneficial; familiarity with hydropower and liquid cooling systems
