Contract Manager @ Davie Shipyards in Finland

This newly established role will be part of the Legal team and offers a unique opportunity to help shape contract management practices and work at the interface between Projects, Procurement, Legal and Business teams. In this role, you will contribute to the successful delivery of complex international shipbuilding projects in direct customer-interface. In more practical terms, you will:

• Identify and manage contractual and commercial risks

• Serve as the first point of contact towards customers, ensuring that that they remain updated on the progress of the project

• Support in contract interpretation and implementation

• Manage change orders, contractual notices and claims processes

• Participate in contract negotiations and commercial discussions

• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations during project execution

• Develop contract management processes, templates and best practices

• Promote contractual awareness across the organisation

The legal team of Davie Shipyards in Finland works primarily from the Helsinki Shipyard office in southern Helsinki. While the team works flexibly, we are looking for someone who enjoys working mainly on-site and being an active part of the team's day-to-day collaboration. The role requires occasional travel.

You will join a growing team of a handful of legal professionals, and report to the Head of Legal of Davie Shipyards in Finland. You will also have a dotted reporting line to the Head of Sales and get support from your international contract management colleagues based in other Davie office locations.

This role would be ideal for a contract management professional who:

• has a relevant degree e.g. in Business, Engineering or Law, combined with 5+ years of experience in contract management, commercial management or project environments;

• has experience in working with complex commercial contracts and a strong understanding of contractual risk management, as well as experience in working with and supporting project organisations;

• works with a practical and commercially minded, customer-centric approach;

• is capable of building processes and best practices, and knows how to raise awareness and influence others across the organization; and

• has great communication skills and excellent working proficiency in both English and Finnish.

Experience in shipbuilding, industrial, construction, infrastructure or EPC projects is considered an advantage.
