What you'll do

Commercial Manager Location: Europe (candidate must be based in a European country, including the UK, Norway, and Turkey) Reports to: Head of Commercial, Sales, Marketing & Services Excellence Travel: Approximately 50% Relocation and visa sponsorship are not available for this role. We are seeking a commercially driven ship agency professional to accelerate growth across our ships agency services business in Europe. This is a sales and business development role for someone who already knows the agency business from the inside: how port calls run, what principals expect, and what it takes to win and keep their business. Recent, hands-on ship agency experience is essential, on either the commercial or the operations side. We will consider two profiles:

  • Commercial: You currently hold, or recently held, a sales, business development, or commercial role within ship agency, and you can show a record of winning and growing accounts.
  • Operations: You are a ship agency operations professional with a strong record of managing principals and port calls, and you want to move into the commercial side. Commercial training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across the region
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet and exceed revenue targets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, operators, charterers, and other key maritime stakeholders
  • Lead the full tender and bid management process
  • Negotiate and close commercial agreements and contracts
  • Deliver market intelligence, forecasts, and performance reporting to senior leadership
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings

Requirements

  • Direct ship agency experience within the past five years, in a commercial or operations role
  • A demonstrable track record. For commercial candidates: accounts won, revenue grown, tenders secured. For operations candidates: principals and port calls managed, and client relationships owned
  • Currently living in a European country (including the UK, Norway, and Turkey), with the existing right to work there
  • Willing and able to travel approximately 50% of the time
  • An existing network among shipowners, operators, and charterers
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Comfortable working with CRM tools and Microsoft Office

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Maritime Studies, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)

Compensation Competitive package, based on experience. Details are shared with shortlisted candidates ahead of the first interview. Please Note This role is open only to candidates with direct ship agency experience. Applications from other industries, from agency functions outside commercial and operations (such as HR, finance, or administration) will not be considered. Candidates must already be based in Europe. Relocation and visa sponsorship are not available for this role.
