Co-Founder & Head of Quantum-AI Applications

About QAILinks QAILinks is a US–Denmark deep-tech startup developing secure, privacy-preserving infrastructure for hybrid artificial intelligence and quantum computing. Our core technology, the Secure Confidential Execution Fabric (SCEF), enables secure and confidential multi-organization execution of hybrid quantum-AI workflows, with independent validation and trusted execution evidence. QAILinks Technologies (US) leads the development of the underlying security, governance, and execution platform, while QAILinks Denmark ApS focuses on quantum-AI research, application development, scientific collaborations, and expanding our engineering capabilities. Our initial application focus is healthcare and life sciences, with opportunities spanning precision medicine, medical imaging, pharmaceutical research, and scientific discovery. The Opportunity We are seeking an exceptional Scientific Co-Founder to lead quantum-AI application research and commercialization at QAILinks Denmark. The ideal candidate combines a strong academic publication record with hands-on experience developing quantum algorithms and hybrid quantum-classical applications, particularly in healthcare, life sciences, or computational sciences. This is an entrepreneurial leadership opportunity for a scientist who wants to move beyond publishing research and help translate emerging quantum technologies into practical, commercially valuable solutions. As a co-founder, you will help shape our scientific strategy, develop our research portfolio, establish academic and industry partnerships, and actively participate in fundraising and grant acquisition. Key Responsibilities Quantum-AI Research & Application Development

• Lead the research, design, implementation, and evaluation of hybrid quantum-classical algorithms and quantum machine learning applications.
• Develop scientifically rigorous applications for healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical research, and precision medicine.
• Identify problems where quantum or quantum-inspired approaches could provide measurable advantages over classical alternatives.
• Establish reproducible benchmarks, classical baselines, and performance evaluation methodologies.
• Lead scientific publications, intellectual property development, and research dissemination.

Research Leadership & Collaboration

• Define the scientific roadmap for QAILinks Denmark.
• Establish collaborations with universities, hospitals, research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, and quantum technology providers.
• Develop joint research projects and supervise researchers, students, and future technical hires.
• Integrate quantum-AI applications with QAILinks' secure execution and governance infrastructure.

Fundraising & Research Grants

• Actively contribute to securing non-dilutive research funding through Danish, European, and international grant programs.
• Lead or co-lead scientific proposals, technical work packages, research budgets, and collaborative funding applications.
• Support investor presentations, technical due diligence, and strategic fundraising activities.
• Build relationships with research foundations, venture investors, and industry partners.

Commercialization & Company Building

• Identify commercially viable quantum-AI applications and potential customers.
• Translate research outcomes into prototypes, proof-of-concept projects, and commercial pilots.
• Contribute to product strategy, intellectual property development, and long-term company growth.
• Participate in strategic decisions as a member of the founding team.

Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Quantum Computing, Quantum Information Science, Physics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Computational Chemistry, or a closely related field.
• Strong publication record in quantum algorithms, quantum machine learning, or quantum application development, demonstrated through peer-reviewed journal or conference publications.
• Hands-on experience implementing and evaluating quantum algorithms and hybrid quantum-classical workflows.
• Strong programming experience in Python and quantum development frameworks such as PennyLane, Qiskit, or equivalent platforms.
• Experience designing rigorous computational experiments and comparing quantum methods against competitive classical approaches.
• Ability to independently lead research projects and communicate complex technical ideas to academic, industry, and investor audiences.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, initiative, and a genuine interest in building a deep-tech company.

Highly Desirable

• Publications or demonstrated research contributions involving quantum computing applications in healthcare, medical imaging, bioinformatics, drug discovery, molecular simulation, or computational biology.
• Experience with AI/ML, foundation models, scientific machine learning, or multimodal biomedical data.
• Experience securing competitive research grants or participating in funded academic-industry collaborations.
• Established research network in Denmark, Europe, or internationally.
• Experience with technology transfer, patents, startup formation, or commercialization of scientific research.
• Experience working with quantum hardware providers or hybrid HPC/quantum environments.

Important Compensation Disclosure QAILinks Denmark is currently an early-stage, pre-funding venture. This is an equity-based co-founder opportunity, and no salary is available at present.
