What you'll do

Civil Infrastructure Lead – Data Centres Bergen, Drammen, Fredrikstad, Haugesund, Kristiansand, Oslo, Stavanger, Trondheim Permanent Hybrid Large and complex infrastructure projects require strong technical leadership, sound engineering judgement and the ability to coordinate across disciplines and stakeholders. At COWI, we are strengthening our capabilities within data centres and are looking for an experienced Civil Infrastructure Lead to bring this expertise into our growing data centre environment. You may already have experience from data centre projects, but this is not essential. We are equally interested in candidates who have worked on other large-scale, complex or mission-critical infrastructure projects and are motivated to apply that experience within the data centre sector. Be part of building COWI’s data centre capabilities Data centres are a strategic growth area at COWI. As we expand our presence in this market, we are strengthening our multidisciplinary capabilities and supporting clients in delivering complex civil infrastructure projects. As Civil Infrastructure Lead, you will take a leading technical role within civil engineering, working across disciplines and with clients to develop solutions from early concept and feasibility through detailed design and construction. Your experience from complex infrastructure projects will be central to the role. You will contribute technical expertise, coordinate interfaces across disciplines and help ensure high-quality design and delivery. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to develop your experience within the growing data centre sector. Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Act as Civil Discipline Lead on complex data center projects, with responsibility for technical quality and design delivery
  • Lead civil infrastructure design and advisory services, particularly within drainage, roads, site development and underground utilities
  • Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical and technically sound solutions
  • Support projects across the full lifecycle, from concept and feasibility through detailed design, construction and commissioning
  • Coordinate civil interfaces with other engineering disciplines and contribute to effective multidisciplinary project delivery
  • Contribute your technical and project experience to the continued development of COWI’s data centre business

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future. You bring solid technical experience from large and complex projects and are comfortable taking responsibility for both technical delivery and coordination. You work well across disciplines, build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues, and are able to navigate projects involving multiple stakeholders and technical interfaces. In addition, you will have:

  • A relevant educational background in civil engineering or a related field
  • Several years of experience from large-scale infrastructure, industrial or mission-critical projects
  • Strong experience within civil infrastructure disciplines such as drainage, roads, site development and/or underground utilities
  • Experience taking a leading technical role, for example as Discipline Lead, Technical Lead or similar
  • Experience from an engineering consultancy, contractor, client organisation or other relevant project environment
  • Experience from data centre projects is an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Knowledge of Novapoint, Civil 3D, Revit or similar tools is an advantage
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken

Some projects may be subject to specific security requirements, and the ability to obtain relevant security clearance may be required. Work location The role can be based in several of our offices across Norway. This includes offices in: Bergen, Drammen, Fredrikstad, Haugesund, Kristiansand, Oslo, Stavanger, and Trondheim. We work in international and multidisciplinary teams, and many of our projects are delivered across offices and borders. Do you have more questions? Before you apply All you need to include in your application is your CV – no photo or application letter. At an interview, you can tell us everything we need to know about why you’re interested in joining COWI. As for the photo, we prefer to form our first impression in person rather than from a picture.
