What you'll do

Chief Technical Officer Want to lead the technical side of the brand behind Europe’s most sold traffic assistant? We’re looking for someone to spearhead our efforts across hardware, software, and data platform. And as a fast-growing tech scaleup, with more than 5 million users across European markets, it won’t be boring. Speaking of it-won’t-be-boring, we’re in the middle of an exciting shift: First, hardware - the very foundation, and where we've already taken European markets by storm. Second, app platform -turning a one-time device sale into a recurring relationship with driving services that solve real pain points on the road, whether it be parking, fueling, mileage tracking, and more. Third, data -our community-sourced traffic data, combined with a data research team, is opening up opportunities in mapping and predicting road intelligence for B2B and B2G customers. That's the structure you'd be stepping into: Hardware and software are the foundation, the data platform sits on top of that, and two commercial lines run off it - the B2C traffic warnings that's been our core since day one, and the B2B/B2G services and data products drawn from the platform. The data layer is increasingly what connects the two, and a growing part of what this role owns. You'll report directly to our CEO and collaborate closely with our CPO. What you'll be doing • Set technical strategy and architecture - on-device vs. cloud decisions for the warnings product, build-vs-buy calls across hardware and software • Own software engineering delivery, architecture and code quality across device, app and cloud • Lead a software team of 20 people • Build and govern the data platform, ingestion, pipelines, storage, warehouse and data quality, as its own capability sitting between our two commercial lines, with cost model decisions on what we store and at what granularity • Own the technical shape of any external-facing API, if and when we launch one - schema, versioning, SLAs • Arbitrate technical debt: not just identify it, but build the business case that gets it funded and paid down • Own platform cost end to end (hardware and cloud), security posture, and GDPR engineering, including the trust and permissions implications of new data surfaces we're considering, like calendar access or location prediction • Build and run the engineering leadership layer - hiring, career paths, knowledge-sharing, and a technical bar that holds up under pressure • Lead technical due diligence on partnerships, acquisitions and integrations Non-negotiable • Has led engineering in a software + hardware environment • Has run a data platform at scale, including its cost management, not just its architecture • Consumer product experience, ideally with a device-plus-app-plus-cloud topology • Has paid down real technical debt with a business case that actually got funded Strongly desirable • Automotive, IoT or connected-device background • Has personally led a company through a hardware-to-platform business model transition • Comfortable operating alongside a founder-led, hands-on CEO who engages engineering teams directly How is it working at OOONO? We’re glad we asked. It’s a nice working place. As in nice-nice. We have a relaxed, informal atmosphere and a flat hierarchy. Whenever you need a break from your important work stuff, you can get beat in table tennis, foosball, or just smalltalk about the weather by the coffee machine. We have monthly social events where we do anything from go-karting to going to festivals. And when we’re not social? Then we’re pretty damn ambitious. We don’t like conservative targets or linear growth. We’re all about the extraordinary. This has led OOONO to become one of the fastest-growing tech scaleups and surprise-surprise: We have no plans of slowing down. So yes, OOONO is a lovely place to work, but it’s also a pretty good opportunity to develop as a person and take the next steps in your career. It’s a place to grow, thrive, and take the next step in your career. The practical stuff Start date: ASAP Working hours: Full-time (37 hours) Location: Gearhalsvej 1.1, 2500 Valby
