Chief Product Officer to Sportway Media Group About us Sportway Media Group builds and operates technology for automated sports production, distribution and digital sports experiences. The group consists of several companies that together cover a large part of the sports media value chain. Sportway operates camera infrastructure and automated production, Live Arena develops the software platform behind production, streaming, distribution and digital services, and Studio Automated develops AI technology for automated sports production. Together, the companies create an ecosystem where the same match can move from automated capture and production to live distribution, digital fan experiences, highlights, analytics and additional services for clubs, leagues, federations and media companies. Sportway Media Group has grown rapidly in recent years, both organically and through acquisitions, and is currently growing by approximately 45 percent annually. As the group expands across products, companies and markets, we now want to create a clearer common product direction and strengthen how we develop, engage and retain our growing consumer subscriber base. We are therefore looking for a Chief Product Officer. About the role As Chief Product Officer, you will have overall product responsibility for Sportway Media Group and become part of the group management team. Your role is to connect the group's technology, products and commercial opportunities while driving growth across our consumer subscription business. You will create a clear direction for where we invest, how our products work together and how we maximise the value of our subscriber relationships over time. You will work closely with Group CEO Daniel Franck, the CEOs of the group companies, development teams, marketing and the commercial organisation to determine which products we should build, how they should fit together and how they should be brought to market. A central part of your responsibility will be to develop and optimise our consumer subscription business. The majority of Sportway Media Group's revenues come from consumer subscriptions, making subscriber acquisition, engagement, retention and lifetime value critical to our continued growth. You will take a holistic view of the subscription lifecycle, from acquisition and conversion to onboarding, activation, engagement, retention, upselling and reactivation. Working closely with marketing and commercial teams, you will identify opportunities to improve the subscriber experience and turn those insights into measurable business results. Our subscription model also comes with its own dynamics. Fans and families often subscribe to follow a particular child, team, league or competition, meaning engagement naturally changes throughout the sports season. Understanding these behaviours and translating them into personalised experiences, relevant content, cross-selling opportunities and stronger seasonal retention will be an important part of your role. This is not a role where you step into a finished product organisation with established processes and clearly defined boundaries. You will help build the structure for how Sportway Media Group works with product strategy, portfolio management, prioritisation, business cases and commercialisation. At the same time, you will establish a more data-driven approach to consumer product growth, with clear KPIs for subscriber retention, churn, customer lifetime value (LTV), average revenue per user (ARPU) and conversion. You will use cohort analysis, customer segmentation, conversion funnel optimisation and continuous experimentation to understand what drives customer behaviour and where we can improve. Through A/B testing and other structured approaches, you will help create a culture where product decisions are informed by data and measurable outcomes. At the same time, this is a hands-on CPO role. You will be expected to move between group-level strategy and concrete product work. One day you may be discussing portfolio priorities with the management team, and the next working directly with product, development, marketing or sales on a business case, subscriber retention initiative, product proposition, pricing model or go-to-market plan. What you will do Your main responsibilities will include:
Ultimately, your responsibility is to create clarity around what we build, why we build it and what we choose not to build, while ensuring our products contribute to sustainable subscriber growth and long-term business performance. About the team You will work across Sportway Media Group and collaborate closely with leadership, commercial teams, marketing, developers, architects and specialists within video, AI, production and sports technology. The group combines several different capabilities. We have a technology and development organisation building software and AI products, commercial teams working across international markets and operational teams responsible for delivering thousands of sports productions. Finance and legal functions support the business as it continues to grow. As CPO, you will become the link between these parts of the organisation, connecting product development with both commercial opportunities and consumer needs. You will work particularly closely with marketing to ensure that product insights, subscriber behaviour and commercial initiatives translate into stronger acquisition, engagement and retention. Product decisions in our environment can have consequences far beyond software development. A new product may affect camera infrastructure, production workflows, customer support, subscriber experiences, commercial agreements, operating costs and margins. Understanding those dependencies, while still enabling the organisation to move quickly, will be an important part of your role. Your qualifications We believe you have solid experience in product leadership within a technology-driven organisation and have likely held a role such as Head of Product, VP Product or CPO. You combine a strong understanding of technology and product development with proven experience in growing consumer subscription businesses. You are commercially minded, analytical and comfortable taking responsibility for both strategic direction and measurable business outcomes. To succeed in this role, we believe you have:
You have likely worked in a fast-growing or entrepreneurial environment where processes and responsibilities have not always been fully defined. You know how to create structure without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy and are comfortable being hands-on when required. Extra interesting if you have
