Chief Engineer (C/E) | Tanker - Crude Oil

Join OSM Thome as Chief Engineer (C/E) on a crude oil tanker trading worldwide. You will lead the engine department, keep all machinery running safely and efficiently, and support safe and reliable ship operations.

• Key responsibilities:
• Oversee operation and maintenance of main engine, auxiliaries, and all engine room equipment
• Lead, train and supervise engine room crew
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance and repairs
• Monitor fuel and lube oil consumption and ensure good engine performance
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety rules and environmental regulations
• Maintain engine room logs, reports and documentation
• Coordinate with Master and deck officers for safe and efficient vessel operation
• Requirements:
• Valid Chief Engineer license (unlimited) suitable for crude oil tankers
• Previous experience as C/E or strong 1/E experience on crude oil tankers
• All mandatory STCW certificates and tanker endorsements up to date
• Good knowledge of engine room systems, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Strong leadership, communication and safety mindset
• Good command of written and spoken English
