Chief Engineer (C/E) | Bulkcarrier

OSM Thome is looking for an experienced Chief Engineer to serve onboard a bulk carrier trading worldwide. You will be in charge of the safe and efficient operation of all engine room machinery and technical systems, ensuring smooth vessel performance at sea and in port. Key responsibilities

• Lead the engine department and manage all engine room personnel
• Oversee operation, maintenance and repair of main engine, auxiliaries and all machinery
• Plan and carry out preventive maintenance and keep accurate engine logbooks
• Ensure compliance with class, flag state, SMS and environmental rules
• Monitor bunker consumption and maintain correct fuel and lube oil management
• Coordinate with the Master and shore office on all technical matters
• Maintain a high standard of safety and cleanliness in the engine room

Requirements

• Valid Chief Engineer (Unlimited) CoC, meeting STCW requirements
• Recent experience as C/E on bulk carriers preferred
• Strong knowledge of main engine, auxiliaries and ship systems
• Good command of English, both spoken and written
• Medically fit for sea service with valid certificates
• Strong leadership, teamwork and safety mindset
