We are looking for a Chef to join Restaurant Aihki for the winter season 2026 - 2027, as part of Sunday Morning Resort in Pyhätunturi, Finnish Lapland.

Restaurant Aihki is known for its high-quality modern Nordic cuisine, where pure, locally sourced ingredients take centre stage. Our restaurant has twice been recognised among Finland's Best Restaurants by _Kauppalehti Optio_ (2022 & 2023, rating 16+).

As a Chef at Restaurant Aihki, you will work as part of our professional kitchen team and take an active role in daily food preparation and service. You will work with high-quality ingredients and help ensure that every dish leaving the kitchen meets Aihki's high standards.

This position is ideal for a chef with a few years of professional kitchen experience who is looking to develop their skills in a high-quality restaurant environment. Experience in à la carte, fine dining or Nordic cuisine is considered an advantage, but most importantly, we are looking for a professional attitude, a strong team spirit and a genuine passion for great food.

Your responsibilities include:

• Preparing and presenting dishes according to Restaurant Aihki's standards

• Working across different kitchen stations during daily service

• Preparing and handling ingredients

• Following Aihki's recipes, procedures and quality standards

• Ensuring the quality, proper storage and rotation of ingredients

• Following kitchen hygiene, food safety and self-monitoring procedures

• Keeping your workstation clean, organised and ready for service

• Working closely with the rest of the kitchen and front-of-house teams

We are looking for someone who has:

• Approximately 2-3 years of professional kitchen experience

• A relevant culinary qualification or equivalent practical experience

• Experience in an à la carte restaurant; fine dining or Nordic cuisine experience is considered an advantage

• Strong fundamental cooking skills and an interest in high-quality ingredients

• An organised, responsible and proactive approach to work

• The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment

• Good teamwork and communication skills

• Good spoken English; Finnish and other languages are considered an advantage

• Motivation to learn and continue developing professionally

• Above all, a positive attitude and genuine passion for high-quality food

Employment

The position begins in mid-November 2026 and continues until the end of March 2027.

This is a full-time seasonal position, approximately 40 hours per week, with two days off per week. Shifts are mainly scheduled in the afternoon and evening.

Working a winter season in Pyhä also means experiencing the Arctic winter, snowy fells and the unique atmosphere of Finnish Lapland right outside your workplace.
