Casualty Underwriter - Middle Market

We are looking for a Casualty Underwriter to join our Middle Market Casualty team in Copenhagen. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious underwriting professional who enjoys working closely with brokers and clients in the market, building strong relationships, and driving new business growth. The role is well suited to someone who combines solid technical underwriting skills with commercial curiosity, strong relationship-building abilities, and a proactive mindset. You will be part of our Danish Casualty team, which consists of dedicated colleagues with a focus on quality underwriting and profitable growth. We work closely with colleagues across lines of business to serve brokers and clients in the Danish and Norwegian markets. As a Casualty Underwriter in Middle Market, you will play an important role in the continued development of our portfolio, with a particular focus on identifying and converting new business opportunities. You will assess risks, determine whether they fit within Chubb’s appetite, prepare quotes, negotiate terms with brokers and clients, and contribute to the profitable growth of our business. The role reports to the Head of Middle Market, based in Copenhagen. For the right candidate, the role may develop into a broader team leader role. Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients, both existing and new
• Promoting Chubb’s Casualty solutions in the market
• Assessing and underwriting risks in the Danish and Norwegian Middle Market
• Preparing quotes, negotiating terms, and supporting the full underwriting process
• Providing high-quality service and support to brokers and clients
• Collaborating closely with colleagues in Copenhagen and the wider Nordic/Northern organization.

Qualifications Your qualifications:

• A degree in Business Administration, Economics, Law or similar fields
• Several years of experience from casualty underwriting or a related commercial insurance role
• Strong interest in the market-facing side of underwriting and in developing new business
• Confident communicator with strong negotiation and presentation skills
• Fluent in Danish and English; understanding of Norwegian is an advantage
• Self-driven, ambitious, and proactive
• Well organized with strong process and structure skills
• A service-minded team player with a positive and solution-oriented mindset
• Comfortable working in an international environment and collaborating across functions and countries
