CAD Mechanical Engineer – Glass Systems | Automotive

About the Role We are looking for an experienced CAD Mechanical Engineer to join an automotive engineering assignment focused on glass systems and vehicle integration. In this role, you will work with the design and development of vehicle glass components throughout the engineering and industrialization phases, supporting the journey from early development through production introduction. What you’ll do

• Design and develop automotive glass components, including windscreen, rear screen, door glass, quarter glass and glass roof systems
• Create, update and maintain 3D CAD models and delivery models
• Create and manage 3D PMI
• Support mechanical integration activities and perform clash analysis before design release
• Provide technical input and design solutions for component development
• Update engineering and part templates when required
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing and other cross-functional teams
• Support projects from initial development through industrialization and production

What we’re looking for

• Strong professional experience with CATIA V5
• Very good experience with Teamcenter
• Strong knowledge of plastic construction and mechanical design
• Experience working with 3D PMI
• Understanding of mechanical integration and clash analysis
• Experience within the automotive industry or vehicle engineering
• Knowledge of glass construction or automotive glass systems is highly advantageous
• Ability to independently drive engineering tasks and deliver according to project timelines
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
