CAD Design Engineer

We are looking for a CAD Design Engineer to develop mechanical solutions for advanced underwater sensor systems. You will take designs from concept and detailed engineering through manufacturing documentation and completed systems. Working closely with electronics, systems engineering and production teams, you will help create robust and reliable solutions for demanding marine environments and significant ocean depths. What you will be doing

• Develop mechanical concepts and detailed designs for underwater sensor systems, from early-stage solutions to completed systems
• Design watertight pressure housings for significant ocean depths, including sealing solutions, mechanical interfaces and penetrators
• Create mechanical layouts and mounting solutions for PCBs, electronic modules, internal and external cabling, and system interfaces
• Design frames, supporting structures, lifting points and handling arrangements for installation, deployment and recovery
• Perform structural and strength calculations, and select materials based on strength, corrosion resistance, weight and suitability for marine environments
• Prepare and maintain 3D models, manufacturing and assembly drawings, cable diagrams and technical documentation, while supporting suppliers, production, testing and continuous improvement

We think you should have

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Product Development or a related discipline
• Strong competence in 3D CAD and mechanical design
• Experience performing structural and strength calculations for mechanical components and structures, including FEM
• Experience with subsea technology, underwater equipment or marine systems is considered an advantage
