What you'll do

To fuel Swappie's profitable growth and advance our mission of making refurbished electronics mainstream, we are looking for a

Business Development Manager to join our B2B Supply team.

At Swappie, our supply chain is what makes us unique. In this role, you will take ownership of weekly purchasing, vendor relationships, and gross margins for a dedicated portfolio of European & North American hardware suppliers. You'll join an international, flat team focused on securing high-quality device volumes (across iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, and AirPods) while expanding into new product categories.

This is a mid-level role perfect for someone with a few years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or B2B account management who is ready to step up and own their own supplier portfolio. You don't need a decade of experience to succeed here: we are looking for sharp commercial instincts, comfort with numbers, and a proactive attitude to negotiate good terms, build vendor trust, and keep our supply chain running smoothly. Your mission is to secure high-quality device volumes at market-leading margins, ensuring our supply chain remains a core competitive advantage as we expand.

What you'll actually do and own

Reporting to the Head of B2B Supply Europe and North America, your work will directly impact our company-level revenue and profitability. This is what your day-to-day responsibilities would look like:

  • Portfolio management & supplier growth: Negotiate market-leading terms for a dedicated supplier portfolio on a weekly basis, securing the best possible prices and favorable payment terms. You will also identify, qualify, and onboard high-potential supply partners across Europe and North America to help us scale into new and existing product categories.
  • Enhance supplier relationships through best-in-class supplier management, fostering better collaboration and strategic partnerships and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Direct product margin ownership: Manage the weekly pricing strategies, negotiate payment terms, and optimize purchase volumes to protect and improve gross margins.
  • Quality control at the source: Build device condition standards and return (RMA) agreements directly into commercial contracts, working with our Inbound teams to ensure high quality from day one.
  • Inventory availability: Monitor shipping commitments, proactively solve supply or transport delays, and maintain clean inbound forecasts so our website always has the right stock available.
  • Market intelligence: Function as Swappies market intelligence center for your supply segment. You will combine pricing trends, competitor behavior, and device availability signals to help the wider commercial organization move faster on strategic pricing decisions.
  • Process improvement: Spot friction points in our daily workflows, ordering tools, or supplier onboarding systems, and suggest simple automations to help the whole team work smarter.
  • Risk management: You'll assess potential risks associated with new opportunities and developing strategies to mitigate them.

What you'll bring to the team

Sourcing in the electronics market is fast-paced and highly dynamic. We look for a collaborative, autonomous problem solver who is naturally wired to spot a challenge and just fix it while taking true ownership of how their portfolio runs.

  • Experience: You have a few years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and/or account management. This should ideally come from short-cycle B2B environments (e.g., consumer electronics, IT equipment, telecom, or fast-moving hardware supply chains).
  • Commercial instinct: You have a proven track record of managing B2B accounts. You know how to negotiate complex business terms, understand business numbers and know how to connect purchasing decisions directly to inventory health, margin, and cash flow.
  • Relationship & negotiation skills: You are comfortable running structured commercial discussions, navigating high-volume deals, and building genuine, long-term trust with international partners.
  • Analytical execution: You are comfortable working with supplier performance data, pricing signals, and forecasting tools to prioritize your daily workflows and make evidence-based commercial decisions.
  • Mindset: You have a proactive, resilient, and results-oriented approach. You genuinely enjoy closing deals and thrive when given high autonomy.
  • Basics: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. A relevant educational background is a plus, but your real-world commercial track record is what matters most to us.

What will give you an edge (or what you'll master with us):

  • Prior knowledge of the secondary mobile device or electronics recycling markets.
  • An existing commercial network within the European recommerce industry.

Basics:

  • Start date: Negotiable, as soon as possible.
  • Contract: Full-time and permanent.
  • Compensation: Our ranges are benchmarked against comprehensive market data and calibrated individually to your experience and regional cost structure.
