Bricklayer

A bricklayers duties include a wide range of masonry work in new construction projects. The work involves building various brick, block, and aerated concrete structures, including exterior and interior walls, façades, foundations, plinths, partition walls, chimneys, and other masonry structures.

The duties may also include preparing mortar and finishing completed structures. The employee is also responsible for protecting the work area, moving materials, maintaining tools, and keeping the work environment clean and organised.

The position requires the ability to read construction drawings and work instructions, use measuring tools, and produce accurate, straight, and high-quality workmanship. The bricklayer must be able to select suitable materials, mortars, and working methods for each project and check the dimensions, alignment, height, and straightness of the structures throughout the work.

Applicants are expected to have previous experience in masonry work, good physical fitness, attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
