Bike Mechanic, Refurbishment – Hamburg | Free Starter Housing & Flights

Since 2016 we have kept bikes running in Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Our German operations are now looking for experienced bicycle mechanics for our professional refurbishment centre in Hamburg. You will be hired locally on a German employment contract by our German operating entity, Onnea UG. The job starts as soon as possible and runs until the end of 2027. We pay for your flights there and back, and you get free accommodation for your first 3 months while you settle into Hamburg. We refurbish bicycles and e-bikes for some of Germany's largest bike leasing and mobility companies, giving thousands of bikes a second life. Your Responsibilities - Refurbish used bicycles and e-bikes to defined quality standards. - Diagnose mechanical issues and decide which repairs are needed. - Replace and repair brakes, drivetrains, tyres, wheels and other parts. - Carry out safety inspections, functional checks and final quality control. - Document repairs in our digital workshop system. What We're Looking For - Professional experience in bicycle maintenance, repair or refurbishment. - Hands-on experience with modern gear systems and hydraulic brakes. - You work efficiently without compromising quality. - English for daily work. German is not required. - Right to work in the EU/EEA. We can't sponsor visas. - High-volume refurbishment experience is a plus. What We Offer - €3,400–3,800 gross per month, depending on experience. - Free accommodation for your first 3 months to get you started. - Flights to Germany, and back home when your contract ends. - Full-time work, 8 hours a day, with flexible hours. - A friendly, international, English-speaking team. - Help with your German tax ID (Steuer-ID), statutory health insurance registration (gesetzliche Krankenversicherung) and any German tax questions.
