BESS Technical & Procurement Lead

As Einride’s central technical expert and procurement lead for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), you will bridge deep BESS hardware auditing with commercial sourcing to establish standardized vendor frameworks. In this role, you will define technical specifications, lead vendor RFPs, negotiate equipment pricing and supplier contracts, and hand off validated procurement packages to regional Project Managers. You will:

• Lead the end-to-end BESS procurement process, including issuing RFPs/RFQs, evaluating proposals, negotiating equipment pricing per kWh, and executing hardware supplier contracts.

- Define hardware requirements, cell chemistry standards, thermal management criteria, voltage boundaries, and safety compliance parameters. - Own technical compliance for TSO qualifications and technical integrations with Balancing Responsible Providers (BRPs) and aggregators for grid flexibility markets. - Formally hand over finalized BESS supplier contracts, pricing terms, and technical design packages to regional Project Managers. - Provide technical drawing reviews and commissioning support during site installation. - Act as the central technical escalation point for complex hardware or system integration failures on live operational sites. We expect you to:

• Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering (with a power systems focus), or Power Systems Engineering.

- Bring proven experience in technical BESS procurement, vendor management, equipment pricing (per kWh), and contract negotiations. - Possess strong technical knowledge of BESS hardware architecture, safety protocols, European grid codes (IEC/EN, CE, VDE, SvK), and grid integration setups. - Be fluent in English (both written and spoken).
