Base Station Senior Technical Expert

Role Overview Working as part of a team of Base Station Test Engineers, the applicant will contribute to the provision of a Base Station testing service, specifically performing RF (Radio Frequency) ETSI / 3GPP / FCC / ISED testing state of the art wireless technologies, such as Base Station Infrastructure (GSM / W-CDMA / LTE / NR). This role is based on-site and full time in Kista, Sweden. The successful candidate will be required to ensure that work is completed to the required level of quality in line with customer expectations and accreditation requirements, (SWEDAC and UKAS). Occasional travel is required for training and to cover off-site testing activities both inside and outside of Sweden. The successful candidate will be required to support activities in other global regions, which are currently China and Canada. Duties And Responsibilities

• Assisting with the technical correctness of reports, Test Information Document, (TID) and Test Plans.
• Key contact point and technical expert for the manufacturer in Sweden, China and Canada.
• Act as a Report Signatory for reports generated by the test team.
• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with ISO 17025.
• Support with testing where required.
• Calculation and update of Measurement Uncertainties.
• Validation of test software used by TUV SUD and the manufacturer.
• Support the introduction of new services as required by the manufacturer – examples might be FR2 OTA, 6G
• Assist with authoring technical justifications in cases where deviations to standards are required.
• Development of test plans in conjunction with the manufacturer including test reduction rationale.
• Communicate with technical experts and project managers to determine test strategies in line with regulatory requirements.
• Attend both projects and technical meetings with the manufacturer providing feedback to the test team on information pertinent to ongoing and future projects.
• Provide training to the manufacturer and other interested parties on Regulatory requirements.
• Oversee internal document and software tools in line with 3Gpp/ETSI and FCC requirements.

Essential Criteria

• Educated to HND level (or equivalent) in Engineering with a RF / Radio content.
• Experience and working knowledge of 3GPP test standards for Cellular equipment – particularly 4G/5G.
• A good understanding of digital communications technologies.
• An interest in working in a test environment.
• Motivated and enthusiastic, with a willingness to increase knowledge as technology advances.
• Flexible approach to work – willing to work shift/overtime as required.
• Strong understanding of using IT systems such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to deliver work independently or as a team, to defined deadlines.
• Conscientious with good interpersonal, customer skills and commercial awareness.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience gained in performing RF accredited testing on a large variety of Wireless technologies, such as WLAN 802.11, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Base Station (GSM / W-CDMA / LTE), SRD 433/868MHz etc.
• Experience of using RF test equipment such as Spectrum/network Analyser, Signal generator, RF Power meter, Base Station test set etc
• Knowledge of EU and FCC Regulatory requirements
• Software skills such as VBA, C Sharp
