Area Sales Manager - Japan & South-East Asia

We are now looking for an Area Sales Manager to grow our business in Japan and South-East Asia.

Your Role

You will be responsible for sales and business development in Japan and South-East Asia. You will work with customers, distributors and partners, and you will be the voice of Obelux in the region. You will report to CEO.

Your main tasks will include:

1. Reaching sales and growth targets in Japan and South-East Asia.

1. Finding, appointing and developing distributors and partners, and supporting them in their daily work.

1. Selling Obelux hardware and software solutions to wind power, telecom, utility, construction and infrastructure customers.

1. Advising customers on the right obstruction lighting solution based on local aviation rules and technical needs.

1. Handling quotations, tenders and negotiations from first contact to signed contract.

1. Sharing market and customer feedback with our product and R&D teams in Finland.

1. Meeting customers and partners and attending trade fairs in the region.

What We Expect

• Native Japanese language skills and fluent English.

• Deep understanding of Japanese and South-East Asian culture and business environment.

• Several years of experience in international B2B sales of hardware and/or software products.

• Experience in managing distributor or reseller networks.

• Good understanding of electrical systems and wiring.

• Knowledge of aviation regulations for obstruction lighting in different countries, or the ability to learn them quickly.

• A relevant degree, for example in electrical engineering or business, or equivalent experience.

• A self-driven and results-oriented working style, and readiness to travel frequently.

It is a plus if you have

• Experience in aviation, lighting, energy, telecom or infrastructure industries.

• Knowledge of ICAO, Japanese (JCAB) or South-East Asian civil aviation requirements.

• Other South-East Asian language skills.
