Avigna is hiring Mobile & Retail Device Engineering Consultant Our IT Delivery Center aims to build strong and sustainable solutions for customers across Europe. We are looking for a Mobile & Retail Device Engineering Consultant to join the team to build, support, and drive customer innovations, bringing efficiency to processes through effective management of cost and quality. Experience: 5+ Years Location: Stockholm Mode of Work: Remote - with occasional travel Role 1: Software Engineer / Architect – Mobile Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Android applications using Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android frameworks.
• Build and support custom Android solutions including enrollment applications, enterprise utilities, device management tools, and hardware integration applications.
• Develop integrations with Android Enterprise technologies, Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) platforms, application distribution services, and device provisioning solutions.
• Create proof-of-concept applications to evaluate new Android hardware, peripherals, SDKs, and emerging technologies.
• Design and support backend services and APIs that enable device management, reporting, and enterprise integrations.
• Build data pipelines, operational dashboards, and analytics solutions to provide visibility into large-scale device fleets.
• Maintain and enhance web-based administration and onboarding platforms supporting device enrollment and management processes.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure secure, scalable, and production-ready mobile solutions.

Qualifications:

• Strong experience in Android application development using Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience developing backend services using Node.js, Python, Java, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with data warehousing, analytics, reporting, and dashboarding solutions.
• Hands-on knowledge of Android Enterprise, EMM/UEM/MDM platforms, and enterprise mobility management concepts.
• Experience integrating Android devices with peripherals such as RFID readers, barcode scanners, printers, and payment devices.
• Ability to rapidly prototype and validate technology solutions while maintaining enterprise-grade security and quality standards.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Role 2: Technical Engineer – Retail & Mobile Platforms Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, administer, and support Android Enterprise environments across dedicated, shared, kiosk, and retail devices.
• Configure and manage Android-based Point of Sale (POS), Self-Checkout (SCO), kiosk, and retail device platforms.
• Manage enterprise mobility environments including policy configuration, application deployment, device enrollment, compliance enforcement, and lifecycle management.
• Support integration and troubleshooting of retail peripherals including payment terminals, RFID readers, receipt printers, barcode scanners, and cash management devices.
• Ensure platform security, compliance, availability, and operational performance across retail environments.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting across Android OS, mobile management platforms, networking, authentication, identity services, and hardware peripherals.
• Collaborate with vendors, hardware manufacturers, payment solution providers, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex technical issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to platform stability, automation, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Support country-specific regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to retail technology platforms.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with Android Enterprise and enterprise mobility management platforms.
• Hands-on expertise with Workspace ONE, Samsung Knox, Android Zero-Touch, Managed Google Play, or similar technologies.
• Experience supporting Android-based POS systems, self-checkout platforms, kiosks, and retail hardware solutions.
• Strong understanding of networking, Wi-Fi, certificates, security policies, device provisioning, and authentication technologies.
• Experience with payment terminal ecosystems and retail peripheral integrations.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, identity and access management, and enterprise security standards.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, device management architectures, and enterprise troubleshooting methodologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management, vendor coordination, and cross-functional communication skills.
