What you'll do

We are looking for an experienced Adaptation Engineer – Lead to work with the design and development of customer-specific adaptations for existing products, components, and assemblies. The role involves translating customer demands received through Sales & Marketing into technically feasible solutions while considering development cost, production lead time, manufacturability, and technical requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and analyze customer adaptation requirements from Sales & Marketing.
  • Evaluate and document technical feasibility, development cost, and production lead time.
  • Select appropriate technical solutions for customer-specific adaptations.
  • Design and develop adaptations for existing products, components, and assemblies.
  • Prepare and maintain all required technical documentation.
  • Coordinate adaptation activities from customer requirement through engineering delivery.
  • Manage large projects and end-to-end engineering processes with limited managerial oversight.
  • Identify and resolve difficult and complex engineering problems.
  • Ensure adaptations meet agreed technical, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, sales, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Coach, review, and delegate work to engineers and less-experienced team members.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Strong experience in Adaptation Engineering, Product Development, or Product Engineering.
  • Experience designing or modifying existing products, components, or assemblies according to customer requirements.
  • Strong understanding of technical feasibility assessment, cost impact, and production lead times.
  • Experience preparing and managing technical engineering documentation.
  • Ability to independently manage large projects or end-to-end engineering processes.
  • Strong analytical and complex problem-solving capability.
  • Experience providing technical leadership, coaching, and engineering reviews.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
