What you'll do

Nordic Waves Group is a Danish climate education and systems innovation studio. We combine educational games, digital tools, climate learning and interactive experiences to help people move from climate awareness toward understanding, action and agency. We’re currently developing Operation Terra-Shift, our cooperative educational game initiative across VR and PC/web/tablet, as part of the wider NWG Educational Universe. As the project grows, we’re looking for a 3D Model Artist to join and support our existing art team. What you’ll work on You will help us create and refine 3D assets for our educational game experiences, including:

  • Environment assets and props
  • Interactive objects and game-world elements
  • VR spaces and scene details
  • 3D assets based on approved concepts and sketches
  • Iterating models based on feedback from game design, art and development
  • Preparing assets so they can be handed over and implemented efficiently in the game

You’ll work closely with our existing 3D artist, game designers, Creative Producer and development team, helping us distribute the workload and keep the visual production moving forward. What we’re looking for Must have:

  • Solid 3D modelling skills
  • Understanding of topology, UVs and game-ready asset creation
  • Ability to work from concept art, sketches and visual references
  • Good eye for shape, proportion and visual consistency
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating on your work
  • Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary remote team
  • A portfolio showing relevant 3D work

Nice to have:

  • Experience creating assets for games
  • Experience with Unity
  • Experience with VR development or optimisation for real-time environments
  • Texturing and material creation experience
  • Experience with stylised environments or props
  • Familiarity with Blender, Maya, 3ds Max or similar tools
  • Interest in educational games, sustainability or climate-related projects

The practical part 🌍 Location: Remote / international ⏱️ Commitment: Approximately 5–10 hours per week, with flexibility around your schedule 💚 Compensation: This is currently a volunteer / unpaid position 🎮 Team: You’ll join an international team of artists, game designers, developers, educators and other contributors NWG is largely volunteer-driven, so we value realistic commitments, communication, and reliability. We do not expect full-time availability; a smaller but dependable contribution is far more valuable than an unrealistic commitment. This is a good opportunity if you want to contribute to a game from an early stage, collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, and help shape a distinctive educational game world while building practical portfolio experience. 🌊
