2x Senior Test Automation Engineers

We are looking for 2x Senior Test Automation Engineer to one of our clients within Banking & Finance. Start date: 2026-11-01 End date: 2027-01-31 Location: Stockholm About the assignment: You will join the Fund Trading Platform team to develop and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for investment funds trading systems. The role combines automated and manual testing across functional, integration, and end-to-end scenarios in a distributed architecture. You will work closely with Development, DevOps, and Product Management to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines. Core Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable, reusable test automation frameworks supporting multiple projects
• Automate functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing with robust scripts and comprehensive coverage
• Plan, design, and execute manual test cases for functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and drive continuous improvement of test processes
• Validate complex integrations, backend services, messaging flows, and database interactions across distributed systems
• Prepare test data, analyze results, and report defects clearly to stakeholders

Profile & Qualifications:

• Senior-level experience in manual and automated testing of complex backend-heavy and distributed systems
• Holistic quality mindset with understanding of when manual testing adds value alongside automation
• Strong object-oriented programming skills and design pattern knowledge for maintainable frameworks
• Good English communication skills

Must Have:

• Holistic view of quality, understanding when manual testing adds value alongside automation
• Strong proficiency in Java 21+ for writing automation scripts and frameworks
• Experience testing Java/Spring Boot based applications and backend services
• Expertise in tools like Selenium, Playwright, JUnit/TestNG, Cucumber, or similar for UI and API automation
• Familiarity with REST Assured or similar for API testing
• Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases for validating data integrity in automated tests
• Experience testing complex distributed systems with multiple integrations and data flows
• Understanding of Kafka, JMS, MQ for testing asynchronous and event-driven systems
• Knowledge of OpenAPI and AsyncAPI for generating and validating automated API tests
• Hands-on experience with Git, Jenkins or similar for integrating tests into pipelines
• Strong grasp of object-oriented programming and design patterns for building maintainable automation frameworks
• Strong experience in manual and automated testing of complex backend-heavy systems and distributed architectures
• Ability to design clear, structured manual test cases and exploratory test charters
