2x Senior Platform Engineers

emagine is looking for two Senior Platform Engineers with different backgrounds for an exciting client in Stockholm.

What profiles we are looking for:

• Profile 1 – Senior Platform Engineer / Developer Experience: A former Software Developer who has transitioned into Platform Engineering/SRE who brings a deep understanding of developers' day-to-day needs
• Profile 2 – Senior Platform Engineer / Tooling Developer: A traditional Platform Engineer with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, GitOps, automation, and platform tooling

The assignement The client's infrastructure is currently decentralized, with a central platform function providing building blocks that development teams use to define and manage their own infrastructure according to DevOps principles. While this approach has created autonomy, it has also increased the infrastructure responsibilities placed on individual development teams and resulted in variations in solutions, processes, and ways of working. The goal is to enable development teams to define their application's requirements at a higher level of abstraction, while the platform manages the underlying cloud infrastructure and operational complexity. Built on AWS, Kubernetes, and GitOps, the platform will provide reusable capabilities, standardized tooling, and a more seamless developer experience. The aim is to reduce cognitive load, improve developer productivity, and allow development teams to focus on building software rather than managing infrastructure. Profile 1 – Senior Platform Engineer / Developer Experience Focus: Software development background, developer experience, internal developer platforms, and abstraction layers, platform engineering. For this profile, we are specifically looking for someone who started their career in software development and later transitioned into Platform Engineering. You have hands-on experience building applications and understand what developers actually need from a platform because you have experienced their daily challenges yourself. You combine strong software engineering skills with platform engineering expertise and are passionate about creating platforms that make developers' lives easier. We would like you to have:

• A strong professional background in Software Engineering / Software Development, preferably backend or full-stack development.
• Experience transitioning into Platform Engineering, Developer Productivity, or Developer Experience (DevEx).
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes and it’s ecosystem (very important)
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience developing Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs), developer tooling, APIs, CLIs, or self-service solutions.
• A deep understanding of developers' daily workflows, including local development, testing, CI/CD, deployments, and debugging.
• A strong product mindset, viewing the platform as a product and developers as its users.
• Strong experience and interest in AI-assisted development and improving developer productivity through modern tooling. (AI should be clearly stated in CV)

Profile 2 – Senior Platform Engineer / Tooling Developer Focus: Cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, GitOps, automation, and platform tooling. For this profile, we are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer with a strong infrastructure and tooling background. You have extensive hands-on experience building and operating cloud-native platforms and enjoy developing the tools, automation, and technical foundations that enable development teams to work efficiently. We would like you to have:

• Several years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or similar roles.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native architecture.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, including designing, deploying, and operating production environments.
• Strong experience with GitOps.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform.
• Experience developing internal platform tooling, automation, and self-service capabilities.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, observability, reliability, security, and cloud operations.
• Experience building reusable infrastructure components and improving platform scalability.
• Scripting or programming experience to develop and maintain platform tools.
• Strong experience and interest in AI-assisted engineering workflows. (AI should be clearly stated in CV)
