2nd Engineer (2/E) | Tanker - Crude Oil

OSM Thome is looking for an experienced 2nd Engineer (2/E) to serve on crude oil tankers trading worldwide. You will work closely with the Chief Engineer and engine team to keep all machinery running safely and efficiently.

• Key responsibilities:
• Assist Chief Engineer in day-to-day management of the engine department
• Operate, monitor and maintain main engine, auxiliaries and related systems
• Plan and carry out routine maintenance and repairs as per PMS
• Supervise engine room ratings and ensure safe working practices
• Maintain correct engine room records, logs and reports
• Support bunkering, fuel treatment and engine performance checks
• Ensure compliance with company, flag state and class requirements
• Requirements:
• Valid STCW III/2 2nd Engineer CoC for seagoing vessels
• Crude oil tanker experience in rank or as 3/E on similar vessels
• Valid tanker (oil) endorsement and STCW safety certificates
• Good knowledge of engine room operations and planned maintenance systems
• Fit for duty with valid medical certificate and seaman’s book
• Good English communication skills
