Johannelund has offered theological education since 1862. The first graduates became missionaries in the Swedish Evangelical Church. Today, over 2,000 have studied at Johannelund. In addition to missionaries, they have become preachers, pastors and priests – most in the Church of Sweden: in the Swedish Evangelical Church (a movement in the Church of Sweden) or one of the dioceses. Some have also become spiritual leaders, social entrepreneurs or evangelists. Employees who have graduated from Johannelund can today be found in most denominations and Christian organizations in Sweden. Others have studied at Johannelund for part of their education to become teachers, journalists or other positions where theological competence is useful.
